If you're looking for a beautiful Chinese wife or girlfriend then the best online dating site is considered to be Chinese Love Links. Here's what I like about Chinese Love Links, and why I consider it to be the best site for meeting a Chinese lady online.

First of all, the thing to remember with Chinese Love Links and all the other Cupid Media owned niche dating sites is that:

• Not all of the ladies are actually in China!
• Not all of the ladies are even Chinese!
• Not all of the ladies will be looking for a marriage partner.

This is quite a bit different from other Chinese dating sites like Chnlove Club, where all of the ladies on the site are looking for marriage partners, and pretty much all of the ladies are in China (although some work overseas).

The Chinese Love Links members are generally in a number of categories:

• Western men and Chinese ladies looking for marriage partners.
• People looking for boyfriend and girlfriends and shorter term relationships.
• People who just like China and Chinese people and want to find like minded people, language study partners, that kind of thing.

When you set up your Chinese Love Links profile it's a good idea to specify what you are looking for. For example I specifically want a Chinese wife, so I made it clear I wasn't looking for a language partner or a fling with someone in my local area.

I've used Chn Love a lot. Although it has the best looking ladies of any dating site I've ever used, there are drawbacks. Firstly it's very expensive. Chinese Love Links has a flat rate charging model which works out much cheaper if you're serious about finding a Chinese wife. Secondly, all ladies on Chnlove are represented by marriage agencies. These agencies have a hideous reputation for misleading, and sometimes even scamming men.

The Cherry Blossom dating site is also fairly popular and I know a lot of men who have successfully found the Chinese woman of their dreams on that site. However, Cherry Blossoms is a pretty clunky site compared to Chinese Love Links.

Chinese Love Links has some brilliant search facilities, and they are way ahead of Chnlove and Cherry Blossoms in this respect. What I also like about Chinese Love Links is that you can quickly compare your profile with a specific lady to see if you are a good match. Possible conflicts are identified, such as the lady being a smoker and you not wanting a lady who smokes. This is great because you can assess if something might be a showstopper, or whether you could overlook one or two contentious areas.

Chinese Love Links isn't without problems. Their email validation didn't like my main email address, so I had to use another email address. What also irritates me is that they have a huge number of niche dating sites, but if you want to sign up to Chinese Love Links and Korean Cupid, Hong Kong Cupid or Thai Love Links then you have to sign up separately to each site. Grrrr!

Generally speaking a lady with little knowledge of English or computer skills will have to use a marriage agency. Younger ladies for which the Internet is second nature will usually try to go it alone as it avoids the marriage agency fees.

Whether an agency lady or a lady going it alone is better, I'm not sure. Some marriage agencies are good, and will stop ladies scamming men. Some agencies are bad and will work with the lady to scam the man. A lady going it alone can result in a great relationship, provided she is serious about marriage. • Be respectful of her culture!
• Don't talk about politics or religion or recent history in China (you know what I'm referring to).
• Don't be brash or cause offence.
• A Chinese lady will not always give you a direct answer to your question. You will have to learn the delicate art of speaking to a Chinese lady. It's not easy by any means!
• If you make a promise to visit her, then make sure you actually do!

One problem with sites such as Chinese Love Links and others is that because it's free to sign up to there are a load of timewasters on the site. I guess dating sites are also probably full of people who have had a row with their partners so they sign up to a dating site to see if there is a better option available.

One thing I've noticed with Chinese Love Links and other dating sites is that they boost the search rankings of profiles for people who log into the site more frequently. I guess this shows that they're pretty serious about finding a partner.

Sadly even this can't get around the fact that there are so many timewasters on dating sites. I feel that finding a partner is a full time job in itself on these sites! An alternative is to use an introduction agency - there won't be so many potential partners to choose from, but a reputable introduction agency will weed out many of the unsuitable people.

Chinese Love Links might also be a good option if you're a Western woman looking for a Chinese husband. It's not that common for Western women to marry Chinese men, but given the huge population imbalance of Chinese men compared to ladies it might be a good option.
