Thai ladies have a long history of marrying Western men. There are some really good introduction agencies that will help you to find the asian lady of your dreams. There are also loads of dating websites that allow you to check out the available Thai ladies who are looking for Western husbands.

On the downside, the Thai political situation is worrying. There are also a fair amount of crimes against foreigners in Thailand, so be careful if you travel there.

The Chinese economy is booming, and with the opening up of the country to outside influences has seen a huge increase in the number of Chinese ladies looking to marry Western men.

Chinese ladies are very family orientated. If you are thinking of starting a family then this is a good thing. The downside is that her parents will be very important in her life - and she may consider them more important than you! Before marrying a Chinese lady be sure that you have addressed the issue of her parents. Chinese children are expected to look after their parents in later life, and that may mean you have to support them financially. If your Chinese lady has siblings then she will be under less pressure to look after her parents.

One problem - and it is a big problem - is that the Chinese do not have a reputation for being trustworthy. On my quest for a Chinese wife, I was told this by many people, and they turned out to be right.

I have taken things to a more advanced stage than most men. I met a Chinese lady on one of the popular Chinese ladies dating sites. I actually went out and visited her. In the end we decided we were not right for each other. So I can assure you that whatever you've heard, there are genuine ladies on these dating sites! They really do exist.

While I don't want to put you off looking for a beautiful Chinese wife, you *really* need to take things carefully. You need to be on the look out for Visa scam ladies, and ladies who are just after your money. Think with the brain in your head! While Internet dating sites take steps to weed out the scammers, it's very difficult in a country where shady business deals and corruption are a way of life.

Another thing to bear in mind is that not many of the Chinese ladies on these dating websites speak or write good (or even basic) English. Many websites such as chnlove or foreignladies.com rely on translators to translate your letters between Chinese and English. While it is possible to use Google's translation tools you will find that getting an accurate translation out of Google will test your patience to the limits. Heck, I even have a doctorate and have done a University level Mandarin Chinese course but I still found it difficult to communicate with my Chinese lady online. Communicating is much easier in person though, when you can read body language and point to things.

The Philippines is a very poor country, and many of its citizens can only make a living by working abroad. This is a good thing - if you want to find a filipina wife then there should be plenty of ladies in your own country.

Since Filipinas are largely Catholic, divorce is frowned upon and so these ladies take marriage very seriously. On the downside, there are a fairly large number of filipino scam ladies online, so be careful! Most of the scam ladies are based in the Phillipines themselves. As always, think with your head not your heart, and be very careful if money is involved.

Japanese ladies are beautiful and have lovely manners. Thanks to decades of contact with western countries, Japan is probably the most westernised of the asian countries. This means that Japanese ladies are a bit more clued up about what to expect from marrying a Western man. Many Japanese ladies have good jobs, and I like the fact that they are less likely to be marrying you just for your money.

On the downside, Japan is expensive. While food is relatively cheap, everything else is priced at or more expensive than other Western countries. The Japanese language is also famously difficult to learn. The good news is that it isn't a tonal language like Mandarin Chinese or Thai. As such it is easier for us Westerners to learn to say a few words of Japanese.
